Do Manchester United really still want Alvaro Morata?
Even though Manchester United just signed striker Romelu Lukaku, they are reportedly still interested in buying Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid.
The Daily Star is reporting that Morata could end up at United by the end of August, according to MEN.
I’m not buying this at all.
So you’re telling me that Man United just paid £75 million for Lukaku and now want to shell out around the same amount of money for another striker? I don’t think so.
United still have to improve their midfield by adding a defensive midfielder as well as a winger. They need that money and don’t need to spend it on another striker.
Phil Jones, Chris Smalling on the way out?
West Brom are targeting Manchester United defenders Phil Jones and Chris Smalling, according to the Mirror.
With Victor Lindelof now on the squad, United can afford to sell either Smalling or Jones. The best move would be to get rid of Jones.
Smiling on the other hand was great during Louis van Gaal’s final season at United and I believe that he can still be a great player for the Reds.
If United are going to have a chance at winning the league as well as make some noise in the Champions League, they’re going to need plenty of depth on their roster. So keeping Smalling may be necessary.
Barcelona going after Man United target.
It’s being reported by teamTalk.com that Barcelona are expected to make a bid for Manchester United target and Benfica right back Nelson Semedo.
What’s interesting is that Semedo’s agent is Jorge Mendes, who of course also represents Jose Mourinho.
I don’t get the feeling that United want Semedo right now. This could be the time for Barca to step in and sign him.
